This Parent and Newborn Mini Prep Guide will help you to understand what happens during these mini sessions, and also how to prepare for it. The mini photoshoot is great for newborns babies up to 8 weeks old and your baby does not have to be asleep for this session.
You will have chosen a colour of backdrop, and selected a colour of for your baby to wear from my list and that I will provide.
If you have been uncertain about this in your booking questionnaire, we will confirm all the details in your pre-photoshoot phone consultation.
Please wear the same or a similar colour to your partner. Clothing should be complementary, but does not need to match. Please avoid logos and character graphics. Small patterns and textured clothing look great. Feel free to wear your favourite colour or neutrals.
On the day
Checklist
- Please bring your baby in an open fronted baby-grow with no vest underneath. This makes it easier to change them into my newborn clothes or wrap them up.
- If your baby is bottled fed or uses a pacifier, please remember to bring your supplies with you and pack extra, as the photoshoot can be a work out for them.
In our phone consultation we will discuss the posing style of your pictures and if you have a preference.
Parents will also be photographed individually with the baby.
Most often the backlit profile picture (shown below) is produced in black and white. If you would prefer all your pictures in black and white, please let me know.
The Add Ons
Wrapped in a Prop and/or a Sibling Picture
These add on set ups will require more time for your session. When we have our consultation we will discuss which prop you would like me to use, if this is the add on you have selected.
If you have selected a sibling picture add on, we may need to utilise a prop if the sibling is too young to hold the baby.

As this is a mini session, I can have your 5 edited images ready to download within 48 hours!

There is a Shop attached to your gallery which has a range of products from small and large prints, canvases and frames.
Buying products of your pictures is a great way to maximise use of your pictures for yourself as well as making a great gift for someone else.
If you have seen something in my studio that is not available in the shop, please ask me about it. Iâm happy to help you find the best use for your pictures.
