 As a Studio Family Photographer in Edinburgh, I offer this Mini Family Photoshoot as perfect for those who want just a handful of Classic Family Portraits. The Timeless Generations Portrait (shown above) is easy for young children to participate in as they don’t have to look at the camera and they don’t have to give a big cheesy grin. All people featuring in the portrait are shot individually and all they have to do is to look at a spot that I will mark for them (we can even play videos for those with short attention spans).
Lastly, we will capture the Classic Family Portrait, with parents and without. Again, if children are happy to look at the camera, then we go with that, but if they would rather smile at eachother, this works as a lovely portrait too. See more examples in my gallery below.
When Do I Book My Session with my
Family Photographer?
You can book anytime and up to 6 months in advance. Perhaps you want a family photoshoot around the time of a special birthday, or if a relative is visiting from far away.Â
My weekend and evening availability is very limited, however, so it is always best to book in advance.Â
Please note that this session is not suitable for babies.

How Does It Work?
When you are booking, you will be asked to select a date and time from my calendar.
You will also be required toÂ
fill in your details, complete a short questionnaire and pay a small deposit of £75.
Once this is completed, you will then receive a Mini Family Photoshoot Prep Guide. Prior to the photoshoot we will have a phone consultation (around a week beforehand), to discuss what you will wear.Â
We begin with the Timeless Generation Portrait is. This is captured by photographing each person individually. Starting with this set up as it is a good way to introduce young children to the studio and the flash, without them having to look at my camera.  Then we move on to Classic Portraits, and by this time everyone is usually a lot more more at ease.
One to two weeks later, you will be sent a link to your pictures where you can download them as high resolution digital files.

Where will this take place?
At my in-home Studio in Corstorphine, Edinburgh, EH12
Session time?
45-minutes approximately. One hour may be needed for a family of 6.
What should I wear?
We will discuss ideas for clothing in our pre-photoshoot phone call, for the Classic Family Portraits.
A dark coloured top is required for the Timeless Generations Portrait.
There will also be a room will be available for you to change your clothing.
Is this photoshoot suitable for babies?
This photoshoot is not suitable for babies. Â
Young babies will be unable to hold there head up for the Timeless Generations Portrait, and may be asleep at the time of the photoshoot appointment.
There is also not enough time to settle, feed and change a baby during this session.
How and when do I pay?
Your session is secured with a £75 deposit payable by credit or debit card. The remaining fee is due on the date of the photoshoot, which can be invoiced and paid by credit or debit card.
What happens afterwards?
I will send you a download link within 2 weeks of your photoshoot. From there you can download all your images in High Resolution.
Can I buy anything else?
Yes! There is a shop attached to your gallery from which you can by high quality prints and products.
