WHY HAVE A MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
Your body is creating life — that deserves to be seen and celebrated. A maternity photoshoot is a beautiful way to honour this moment and create images you’ll treasure long after your bump has gone. In my relaxed home studio, you’ll be guided, supported and photographed in a way that feels natural, feminine and unforgettable.
You can choose to capture this chapter in a short, focused Maternity Mini, or opt for the Bump to Baby experience, which documents both your pregnancy and your newborn’s earliest days — telling the full story from anticipation to arrival.
Whichever path you choose, your session is designed to feel calm, considered, and deeply personal.

WHEN TO BOOK
Most women book after their 20-week scan. This allows plenty of time to get your preferred date and time in my calendar.
You want to aim for approximately 30-36 weeks of pregnancy for your photoshoot appointment. If you are carrying multiple babies, aim for 27 – 33 weeks.
Best Time for Your Maternity Photoshoot
THE PROCESS
BOOKING & PREPARATION
Pick your date between 30 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. You will pay only a £75 deposit on the day of booking and the remaining balance on the day of the photoshoot. Payment plans and Klarna available.
When you receive your booking confirmation, there will be a link to your session prep guide PDF. Within this is my client wardrobe guide and advice on what to bring.
We will also have a pre-shoot consult over the phone around a week before your photoshoot. It’s a great way to get to know eachother a little before you step in front of the camera.
FULLY GUIDED PHOTOSHOOT
If you book the Bump to Baby Experience, your maternity session will begin with pampering hair and make-up. In the studio, I will guide you through poses and actually show you how to get in to them. This luxury photoshoots allow time for 3 outfit changes, which can include a nude set-up if you wish.
For the Mini Maternity Photoshoot, you arrive to the studio hair and make-up ready. We shoot one outfit on one backdrop, but I love a lighting change for gallery variety and will aim to make this as seamless as possible.
IMAGE SELECTION
Your maternity images will be ready within two weeks of your photoshoot. You will receive an email with a link to your fully edited gallery. This allows you to download the number of images included in your package right away, and purchase additional images or prints and products in the online gallery shop.
If your package includes a product we will consult over your chosen image(s) for your product.
If you are struggling to make your image selection, I am happy to have a Selection appointment with you over Zoom or in person.

your QUESTIONS
How far along should I be?
7- 8 months is ideal. Bump is big and beautiful, but you still have some energy and it’s less likely that you will give birth before the appointment! But if you have gone past this point, do get in touch in case I have space to squeeze you in. A maternity photoshoot is not an opportunity to be missed!
Do I need to bring anything?
I have a selection of dresses and fabrics to choose from so you don’t need to bring your own dresses, unless there is something that you really want to be photographed in. It’s a good idea to bring a skin coloured thong and black maternity leggings to help with our options. Nude is also an option but absolutely not essential. If you have any hair accessories, special or statement jewellery you would like to wear please also bring these on the day.
Where will this take place?
At my home studio in Corstorphine, Edinburgh North, EH12
Session time?
Most likely a week day morning when all my kids are at school!
The Mini Maternity is 45-minutes only.
The full maternity photoshoots 3 hours, which includes hair and make-up as well as up-to 90-minute photoshoot.
Can my partner come?
Yes, of course, and other children are welcome too.
How and when do I pay?
You will pay a £75 deposit when booking. The remaining balance is due on the date of the photoshoot. You can pay by credit or debit card. A reminder email will be sent to you with a button via which you can make your payment.
What happens afterwards?
Within 2 weeks of your photoshoot, you will receive an online gallery and be able to download the number of digitals in your package.
There is an online gallery shop in which you may purchase additional digitals, prints and wall art.
There is a framed print included in the Bump to Baby package. If this is your selected option, I will consult with you on which image you would like framed.
WHAT DO PEOPLE DO WITH THEIR PICTURES?
Many women buy prints from the online gallery shop for their baby book.
A matted print or framed print or acrylic of one favourite image to have on the wall at home!
The 5.5″ Accordions are also becoming a popular choice. You can buy this with a maximum of 10 selected images, even if your package includes less than that in digitals.
These are provided by an Award Winning Photographic Lab.
There are also framed products and modern acrylics available, which is a great way to show off your pictures.
