It’s life changing to welcome a new little person into your family, and a newborn photoshoot is the perfect way to mark the occasion. Babies change so quickly, and those fleeting moments can be hard to capture with mobile phone pictures that end up lost in your camera roll. This is a time in your life worth investing in.
As your Newborn Photographer, my sessions focus on the natural bond between you and your baby. I’ll gently guide you into comfortable positions, capturing your little one safe and secure in your arms. Whether they’re asleep or awake, the session moves at their pace — always keeping them happy and content. The result is a gallery of images that feel authentic, intimate, and timeless.
When Do I Book My Session with my
Newborn Photographer?
You can book anytime after your 12-week scan. At your scan appointment you will be given an estimated due date and this helps book your spot in my diary.
The actual appointment date and time is set once your baby is born.
How Does It Work?
When you are booking, you will be asked to fill in your details, complete a short questionnaire and pay a small deposit of £75.
Please select a date that is approximately 2 weeks after your due date (This can be changed once your baby has arrived, if need be), or as soon as possible your baby is already born.
Once your baby has arrived, let me know and we’ll confirm the date. You will then receive a Newborn Photoshoot Prep Guide, and we will have a phone consultation to discuss what happens on the day and what you should wear (for Parent & Newborn Mini Sessions).

your QUESTIONS
I don't know when my baby will be here. How do I book?
You can book anytime after your 12-week scan. At this point you will have an estimated due date and I can add that to my diary to secure your space. Your baby can arrive any time in the 6 weeks surrounding that date so I will email you a gentle reminder on the week of your due date. When your baby arrives please inform me and we can confirm a suitable date for your session.
How old does my baby have to be?
Your baby is considered newborn for the first six weeks, though babies are sleepier in the first month. 1 – 3 weeks old is ideal.
Newborn Mini sessions are great for babies 1-8 weeks.
I also have bespoke Baby Mini sessions for 2-6 months.
Shorter Sitter sessions are available for older babies.
Where will this take place?
At my wee home studio in Corstorphine on a weekday morning.
How long will it last?
Up-to 90-minutes for Mini Sessions.
30-45-minutes for Sitter Sessions.
What do I need?
All the things baby would usually need throughout the day. Nappies, wipes, spare vest and baby grow, pacifier, extra formula if used as baby can get quite hungry!
Can I be in the photo?
Absolutley! Parents and siblings are welcome to take part in the Picture Perfect photoshoot and the Parent & Newborn Mini Photoshoot.
A backlit parent picture may be taken in the bespoke Baby Mini photoshoot to guarantee 3 images.
Is there anything else?
If you would like to bring a special toy or blanket to be incorporated in the photo shoot you are welcome to. I have a selection of coloured fabrics to wrap your baby in but you can also bring your own baby outfit if you wish. Please note than non photo shoot baby clothes are made for growth and your baby can look swamped in them. Sometimes a clean neat fitting white vest is all you need if you would rather that your baby wasn’t swaddled.
When and how do I pay?
You will pay a £75 deposit when booking. The remaining balance is due on the date of the photoshoot. You can pay by credit or debit card.
What happens after?
Within 2 weeks your fully edited images will be ready and a gallery link will be delivered to your email.
Select your images from your online gallery and use the online shop to purchase any additional digitals you would like as well as prints and framed images.
Any products purchased in the online Gallery shop will be with you 3-4 weeks after you have placed your order. Loose prints are usually delivered within 1 week.
Can I purchase anything else?
Yes! There is a shop attached to your gallery with some beautiful products that look great in your home or can be gifted to family members.
