Itâs life changing to add a person to your family and a great idea to mark the occasion with a newborn photoshoot. The little ones change so fast and our mobile phone pictures, that get lost amongst hundreds of others, just donât do them justice. This is a moment in your life to invest in.
As your Studio Newborn Photographer in Edinburgh,  the session involves me gently swaddling your baby, positioning and posing them on backdrops and in props. Asleep or awake, I will only do what your baby is happy for me to do. A content little baby is what we are after in your pictures.

When Do I Book My Session with my
Newborn Photographer?
You can book anytime after your 12-week scan. At your scan appointment you will be given an estimated due date and this helps book your spot in my diary.
The actual appointment date and time is set once your baby is born.
How Does It Work?
When you are booking, you will be asked to fill in your details, complete a short questionnaire and pay a small deposit of £75.
Please select a date that is approximately 10 days after your due date (This can be changed once your baby has arrived, if need be), or as soon as possible your baby is already born.Â
Once your baby has arrived, let me know and we’ll confirm the date. You will then receive a Newborn Photoshoot Prep Guide, and we will have a phone consultation to discuss what happens on the day and what you should wear (for Full Newborn and Parent & Newborn Mini Sessions).

the PICTURE PERFECT PHOTOSHOOT
This is is the perfect mix of baby only pictures on a beautiful backdrop
and in gorgeous wee props, as well as pictures with parents and siblings.
Use of my newborn wardrobe, backdrops and wraps is included.
I will select and edit 10 beautiful pictures and send you a gallery link,
from which you can download the high-resolution files, within two weeks of your photoshoot appointment.
You will also be able to download a slideshow of your pictures
and purchase professional lab quality prints from the online Gallery shop.

 This photoshoot is short and sweet but captures your baby’s details whether they are asleep or awake.
Use of 1 beautiful backdrop colour
The session is 60-90 minutes long.
It is suitable for babies up to 8-weeks old.Â
the Mini is a Baby Only session.
You will receive 5 professionally edited,
high-resolution digital files within 48 hours!

the PARENT & NEWBORN MINI
 This photoshoot is for those special few pictures of
you with your new baby. Â
It is suitable for babies up to 8-weeks old.
Photoshoot will be 60-90 minutes long.
Newborn wraps will be used for your baby and the Maternity wardrobe is available if you need.
You will receive 5 professionally edited,
high-resolution digital files within 48 hours!

Moments to Treasure

I don't know when my baby will be here. How do I book?
You can book anytime after your 12-week scan. At this point you will have an estimated due date and I can add that to my diary to secure your space. Your baby can arrive any time in the 6 weeks surrounding that date so I will email you a gentle reminder on the week of your due date. When your baby arrives please inform me and we can confirm a suitable date for your session.Â
How old does my baby have to be?
Your baby is considered newborn for the first six weeks, though babies are sleepier in the first month. 1 – 3 weeks old is ideal.Â
Newborn Mini sessions are great for babies 1-8 weeks.
I also have bespoke Baby Mini sessions for 2-6Â months.
Shorter Sitter sessions are available for older babies.Â
Where will this take place?
At my wee home studio in Corstorphine on a weekday morning.
How long will it last?
2 hours for the Picture Perfect session, which is a mix of all set ups.
Up-to 90-minutes for Mini Sessions.
30-45-minutes for Sitter Sessions.
What do I need?
All the things baby would usually need throughout the day. Nappies, wipes, spare vest and baby grow, pacifier, extra formula if used as baby can get quite hungry!
Can I be in the photo?
Absolutley! Parents and siblings are welcome to take part in the Picture Perfect photoshoot and the Parent & Newborn Mini Photoshoot. Â
A backlit parent picture may be taken in the bespoke Baby Mini photoshoot to guarantee 5 images.Â
Is there anything else?
If you would like to bring a special toy or blanket to be incorporated in the photo shoot you are welcome to. I have a selection of coloured fabrics to wrap your baby in but you can also bring your own baby outfit if you wish. Please note than non photo shoot baby clothes are made for growth and your baby can look swamped in them. Sometimes a clean neat fitting white vest is all you need if you would rather that your baby wasn’t swaddled.
When and how do I pay?
You will pay a ÂŁ75 deposit when booking. The remaining balance is due on the date of the photoshoot. You can pay by credit or debit card. Â
What happens after?
 Up to two weeks after your Picture Perfect photoshoot, you will receive an email with a link to your Gallery. From there you will be able to download all 10 of your pictures as well as a mini slideshow.
 There is also an Online Gallery Shop, which will demonstrate your pictures in products to help you choose items, should you wish to purchase anything.
There are some products in the studio that are not available in the online shop, but are produced by the same professional photographic lab. These can be ordered via Susan, the photographer.
Any products purchased in the online Gallery shop will be with you 3-4 weeks after you have placed your order. Loose prints are usually delivered within 1 week.
Can I purchase anything else?
Yes! There is a shop attached to your gallery with some beautiful products that look great in your home or can be gifted to family members.
