Hi, I’m Susan and I have trained with some of the best in Maternity, Beauty and Boudoir Photography in the UK. I’ve also subscribed to training that focuses on posing women, by some of the best photographers in the US. You do not need to have any modelling skills to do this photoshoot – I’ve got you!
This photoshoot isn’t just about the gorgeous boudoir gallery you’ll have at the end, but about your experience too. The main aim of the photoshoot is to make you feel like a queen! The most confident person you’ve ever come across. You will float out of here with your head held high.
Most ladies who come in to my studio, want this and know they can get it, but are still nervous as hell. Well, it’s my job to put you at ease and this is how I do it.

When it comes to prepping for your photoshoot, I do provide you with a guide that demonstrates which outfits are available in the client wardrobe and what you can do to make get your skin photoshoot ready. And because we don’t have a photoshoot every day, it’s a good excuse to get pampered in the week leading up to your appointment with a mani-pedi or a fresh (but not a drastically changed) haircut.
What to wear, what type of pictures of want, how nude do you want to be can be discussed before your shoot.
PROFESSIONAL HAIR & MAKE-UP ARTIST
You made it! It’s time to sit back, relax and get pampered. Revel in the fact that the hardest part is over. You booked, and you turned up!
Included in the session price for your Boudoir Photoshoot is a professional Hair & Make-up Artist! So you can feel like a model, and decide how you look. The hair and make-up artist will consult with you to determine how you want your make-up done for the session. So get that Pinterest Board set up and start pinning, whether it’s wing tip eyeliner or shimmering pink lips, we’ve got you covered.

I will guide you through the poses, telling you how to stand, where to put your hands, which direction to look, and even how to breathe! When posing, you don’t always have to be looking at the camera either. We’ll want to show off that gorgeous eye make-up with “eyes down”. My training also extends to good lighting, and even those not well versed in an Instagrammer’s ring light will know that good lighting can enhance our
beauty too.
Posing sensual, seductive, can be nervy and you can feel silly to do some of these things in front of someone you barely know.
Boudoir photography isn’t like a classic portrait photoshoot. You don’t have to be looking at the camera and smiling. Sometimes you don’t even need to be facing the camera! Though the occasional “eyes up to camera” can add a sensual quality that will engage your viewer in the desired way, so we will do that sometimes when the moment is right.

I like a real woman and skin textures, but most of us can do with a subtle amount of skin smoothing. That’s because these super-duper high-resolution cameras and my fancy lens, see more than our eyes actually do, and that seems a little unfair. So, I use my extensive Photoshop skills to level the playing field – and it’s handy for getting rid of those temporary blemishes and spots.

Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera. I should know, I hid behind it for years!
We owe this to the generations that come after us, to show them how we valued ourselves.
But when we push past the insecurities and think about getting something to value for a long time, your pictures become filled with memories of your amazing boudoir photoshoot experience, as well as a celebration of your body. And it’s a worthy celebration!
HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT
I think it’s always a good idea not to be rushing back to work after your photoshoot. If you’ve made yourself up, and pampered yourself in preparation, then had an amazing spirit lifting time during your photoshoot, then you should be off out for a nice lunch with your partner or friends to make the most of this occasion of celebrating your body.
