Becoming a mum is full of joy, challenges, and moments that pass by too quickly. You spend the early days getting to know each other, and trying so hard to do what’s best to help your baby thrive.
Introducing Motherhood Photography Sessions, designed especially to capture your beauty and strength, and gentle moments between you and your child.
A motherhood photoshoot is an opportunity to pause and preserve the moments of early motherhood. Take a moment with me as your photographer to slow down and celebrate you and your baby together. This photography is suitable for babies (and children) of all ages and stages. Whether it’s your baby’s first smile, first steps or your love and connection. These images will allow you to relive this special time again and again.
When Do I Book My
Motherhood Photoshoot?
You can book anytime but do book ahead to ensure that you can get the date and time you’d like, particularly if there are older siblings.
Consider the age of your child and their development.
Do you want images captured while they are still small and sleepy?
Usually up to 8 weeks old.
(You may also wish to consider a Parent & Newborn Photoshoot with prop-add on available.)
Would you like them to be awake, holding their head up and being held by you at all times?
Around 3-5 moths old.
Do you love the images of babies sitting upright on their own?
This will happen between 6-9 months.

The Process
Booking
When you are booking, you will be asked to select a date and time from my calendar. You will also be required to fill in your details, complete a short questionnaire and pay a small deposit of £75.
Pre-shoot
I will then send a Motherhood Photoshoot Prep Guide, and we will have a phone consultation a week beforehand, to discuss ideas on styling.
In the prep guide, I encourage you to wear something from home that you love and that represents your personality. And we can use the second set up as an opportunity to do something creative with my Client Wardrobe, in order to produce beautiful portraits truly unique to you.
The Photoshoot
Each session is unique and tailored to reflect your personality and story.
When you arrive at the studio, we will finalise you and your children’s wardrobe choices (and dad’s, if he is joining us). During our time together, I will guide you all in posing, you are in safe hands with me.
We will shoot 2 different set ups and allow time in between for a break. It may feel like work, but it will be fun and you will be so happy you booked in the end.
Delivery
Within two weeks your images will be ready. If you need my help to select your images, we can arrange a Selection Appointment over Zoom, otherwise you can download your 5 favourites from an online gallery. This is also where you can order your prints, frames, and purchase more downloads (most people do!)

Do I need to bring anything?
For this session it is great to use clothes from home. Grab that gorgeous dress from the back of the wardrobe and give it a dusting off. My client wardrobe is available for you and we can use fabrics to design something unique for you.
Where will this take place?
At my home studio in Corstorphine, Edinburgh North.
Session time?
Maximum of 90-minutes with plenty of breaks for your baby.
Do I have to have a Creative set up?
Absolutely not. You can choose to have 2 set ups with items from your own wardrobe that express your personality.
Can my partner come?
Yes, of course, and other children are welcome too.
How and when do I pay?
You will pay a £75 deposit when booking. The remaining balance is due on the date of the photoshoot. You can pay by credit or debit card. A reminder email will be sent to you with a button via which you can make your payment.
What happens afterwards?
Within two weeks your gallery will be ready. We can book a Selection Appointment if you need help deciding and if you wish to enquire about prints and products.
If you would like to view and online galley and select on your own, you will have a limited window of time to do this.
WHAT DO PEOPLE DO WITH THEIR PICTURES?
Many women buy prints from the online gallery shop. These are provided by an Award Winning Photographic Lab.
There are also framed products and modern acrylics available, which is a great way to show off your pictures.
