Bridal Boudoir Photography: The Ultimate Gift for Your Groom

28 Feb 2025

When choosing a wedding gift from bride to groom, most brides opt for something sentimental yet traditional, that he will love. A luxury watch is a popular choice, cufflinks, jewellery… all accompanied by a handwritten love letter. But what if you could give your groom something truly unforgettable? Bridal boudoir photography is the ultimate wedding gift – one that will leave him speechless, bring a smile to both your faces for years to come, and allow you to embrace your confidence and celebrate your beauty in an experience you will love!

If you’ve ever considered a bridal boudoir session but weren’t sure what it involved, here’s everything you need to know.

Why Choose Bridal Boudoir?

A bridal boudoir photoshoot session is about so much more than just beautiful photos. Here’s why it’s an experience worth having:

  • The Ultimate Intimate Gift – Forget the fancy watch – this is a personal, once-in-a-lifetime gift that your groom will cherish forever.

  • A Shared Experience – You can enjoy the images together, reliving the excitement and anticipation of your wedding day.

  • Empowerment & Confidence – Boudoir photography allows you to celebrate yourself, your body, and the weeks before you became a bride.

  • A Boost to Your Self-Esteem – Many brides walk away from their session feeling more confident than ever before.

  • A Lasting Memory – Keep a gorgeous album in your bedside drawer or turn your favourite images into elegant wall art as a daily reminder of your beauty and confidence.

What Will Your Groom Think?

And if you need more convincing, check out some online videos of grooms reacting to bridal boudoir albums—it’s priceless! Their jaws drop, their eyes widen, and their grins say it all. Just imagine your groom’s reaction as he sees your stunning photos for the first time!

When Should You Book?

Timing is key! To ensure your album is ready in time for your wedding day, you should schedule your session at least six weeks before the big day. This allows time for:

  • Your shoot

  • Professional retouching and editing

  • Selecting your favourite images

  • Printing and delivery of your final products

The sooner you book, the better – it takes the pressure off you in those final few weeks when you have SO MUCH to organise!

What to Wear

Not sure what to bring? What to Expect? Have a million questions you want to ask? Don’t worry – I provide a Prep Guide and Pre-Shoot Consultation to help you plan your perfect looks. We can also create a Pinterest board together so we can share ideas with each other. Some classic bridal boudoir outfit ideas include:

  • Bridal Accessories – Veil, wedding shoes, garter, stockings, suspenders, corset. Give him a preview of what he can look forward to on your wedding night!

  • Lingerie in Soft Tones – Ivory, white, or champagne lingerie sets create an elegant and romantic look. But you can throw in red, black and other bright colours too – variety is the spice of life, and all that!

  • Your Wedding Dress – Bringing your dress allows for teasing and undressing shots that add a bridal touch to your session.

  • A Pop of Colour – Incorporate your ‘something blue’ with a stylish lingerie set.

  • Classic Nude or ‘Between the Sheets’ Shots – If you’re feeling adventurous, a beautifully posed nude or implied nude shot can be a stunning addition to your album.
